About

Karen moved to New Zealand from the UK in 2002 where she worked as an Environmental chemist & software engineer.  A work secondment to San Francisco ignited her passion for trail running & cross country racing. On arriving in New Zealand she discovered the joys of multisport & New Zealand trail running achieving some podium places in the Coast to Coast Longest Day, Big Day at the Office, Goldrush, Motatapu, Loop the Lake & Sanctuary runs. She still races for Sumner during the Cross Country season & has represented Canterbury at the New Zealand National Cross Country champs in 2014 and 2015.  She caught the adventure racing bug 3 years ago & has been hooked ever since, participating in her first multiday event; Godzone in 2015!

In 2007 she left her software job to study Sport Performance & set up her own Endurance Coaching business “Fit For Life” in Christchurch.
